Homemade Crispy Rice Bars — A Healthier Sweet Treat
This one’s become a staple in my kitchen — a simple, no-bake treat that swaps out processed sugar for real, honest ingredients. It takes minutes to make, keeps in the fridge all week, and works just as well as an afternoon snack for the kids as it does a pre-workout bite for you.
Ingredients:
• Crispy rice (rice cereal)
• Natural peanut butter (no added sugar )
• Natural honey
• Vanilla extract
• Protein powder (optional, for adults — not recommended for kids)
Step 1:
Mix the peanut butter and honey together in a bowl.
Step 2:
Transfer to a saucepan and stir over low heat until melted and smooth.
Step 3:
Stir in the vanilla extract, mixing until fully combined.
Step 4:
In a large bowl, pour the mixture over the crispy rice. Mix well until every piece is coated and the texture is sticky enough to hold together when pressed.
Step 5:
Transfer the mixture to a lined dish or tray, press it down evenly, and pop it in the fridge overnight.
Step 6:
Once set, cut into bars or squares — whatever size works best for you. Enjoy!
